Vinyl window zip shade for outdoor patios, with Strataglass clear vinyl windows and Weblon Coastline Plus borders. Manual crank or motorized. Built for a clear view, a barrier against wind, rain, and cold, and insulation. USA-made by Outdoor Shades USA. Vinyl windows do not work as a solar shade and they do not provide privacy.

Size

This vinyl window zip uses a 5.5" cassette and 4" tube. Max size 192" wide x 120" high. Larger than 192" x 120": call or email for pricing and availability.

What is on this shade

• Clear vinyl panels - high-quality clear vinyl, 50" x 100" each. Panels can be cut and arranged for a custom window look.
• Borders are Weblon solid color.
• Keder - included. Vinyl window shades always use Keder.
• SA (self-adjusting) tracks - included on every vinyl window zip.
• HD 2.5 bottom bar - included on every vinyl window zip.

Vinyl is heavier than mesh, so SA tracks and the HD 2.5 bar are required so the shade runs smoothly. Regular tracks, a standard bottom bar, and recessed tracks are not used on this product.

Clear vinyl

Windows are cut from Strataglass PanoramaFR clear vinyl sheets, 50" wide by 100" high each. Press-polished, USA-made. Windows can run vertical or horizontal. We cut panels to different sizes and align them to your layout.

Weblon border colors

Borders are Weblon Coastline Plus: Pirate Black, Barque Brown, Cork Brown, Beige, Dark Taupe, Ebbtide Tan, Sand, Almond, Ivory Coast, Sail White, Driftwood Gray, Charcoal Gray, Sunset Orange. See the Weblon color chart. Samples on request. Borders are sized to the job.

Window and border layout

The options on this page are a basic configuration for a starting price. After you approve the estimate, we work with you on the final design before we build it: window orientation, panel sizes, border widths, and how the panels line up. Usual spec is about 4" of Weblon between clear panels. If you want no border between clear panels (clear-on-clear welds), ask on the estimate.

Living with vinyl

Clear vinyl can shrink and expand with temperature, even above freezing. Put the shade in the position you want before it drops below 50°F, and do not run it below 50°F. Vinyl is built a little fuller than mesh, so it will not look drum-tight; a slight ease is correct. Leave a new shade down for 48 hours after install. Small waves or ripples in the clear vinyl and welds are normal and usually relax on a warm day. Usual layout is Weblon between clear panels (about 4" minimum). Unroll and install soon after it arrives. Keep tracks clear, and raise the shade in high wind.

Motors, crank, remotes, and hubs

Vinyl uses slow, high-torque motors only. Ask us to add any of these on your estimate. They will be added to the product options as soon as we can.

• Dooya 120V with obstacle detection - 50Nm (left or right). Recommended motor. Lifetime on Dooya 120V.
• Dooya Solar LiOn rechargeable - 50Nm, with solar panel charger and AC charger adaptor. 5-year motor term.
• Somfy Maestria with obstacle detection - 550 (left or right). 10 ft cord, no male plug; 18 ft or 24 ft replacement cord available. 5-year motor/controls term.
• Remotes - none, 1-channel, 5-channel, or 15-channel. Extra remotes on the same product (not a separate SKU).
• Hubs - Bond Bridge, Bond Bridge Pro, Dooya Multi-Link (Dooya motors), or Somfy TaHoma (Somfy motors). On this product, not sold separately.

Manual crank (left or right, with or without a 5 ft handle) on this vinyl window zip is limited to 88" wide x 10' high because the HD 2.5 bottom bar is included. Wider shades use a motor.

Hardware colors: black, beige, dark bronze, white, ivory.

Wind

Wind tolerance up to 90 mph. Every vinyl window zip includes the HD 2.5 bar and SA tracks. That is a system tolerance, not a hurricane rating. Raise the shade in extreme weather.

Warranty

Limited Lifetime hardware. Lifetime on recommended Dooya 120V motors. Somfy motors/controls, Dooya rechargeable motors, and remotes: 5 years. Weblon Vinyl borders: 5 years. Clear vinyl (Strataglass): 2 years. Weld of clear Strataglass to the Weblon color border: 5 years. If you request no Weblon between clear panels, those clear-on-clear welds are 2 years.
