Outdoor Shades USA stands behind every screen we manufacture. Our Limited Lifetime Warranty provides Lifetime coverage on the screen hardware. Mesh, motors, and controls are also warranted, with the specific coverage periods shown below. We designed this warranty to be one of the most inclusive and customer-friendly in the industry.

Fabric periods include seams, welds, Keder, and zippers for the duration of the applicable fabric warranty.

Terms and conditions

Outdoor Shades USA warrants solely to the original purchaser or homeowner of Outdoor Shades USA screens that the screen purchased shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use if the screen remains at its original installed location.

This Limited Lifetime Warranty does not apply to:

  • Defects caused by modifications, misuse, abuse, or improper maintenance
  • Subjective personal preferences or judgments
  • Claims by anyone who did not purchase the screen from Outdoor Shades USA
  • Other specific components as outlined in this warranty

Motors, controls & electrical accessories

We warrant electric motors, controls, and electrical accessories for 5 years (Somfy, rechargeable motors, and Dooya remotes/controls) to Lifetime (Dooya 120V motors), from the date of sale, against failure under normal use.

Warranty is void if the motor or controls have been exposed to excess water, incorrect connection, used other than for their intended purpose, acts of God, or abnormal conditions.

Fabrics / mesh

Coverage applies when the fabric becomes non-functional due to loss of dimensional stability from sunlight, mildew, rot, or normal atmospheric conditions. Abnormal or excessive discoloration and fading is covered. Discoloration from atmospheric pollution or other debris is not covered.

The fabric warranty also covers all seams, welds, Keder, and zippers for the duration of the applicable fabric period. Labor and consequential expenses are not covered. Warranty periods range from 2 to 15 years depending on fabric selection (see table above).

Parts & shipping

Outdoor Shades USA covers the cost of shipping replacement components for any issue deemed warrantable. We will deliver warranted parts to you at no charge for standard ground or common-carrier freight. (Expedited shipping, if requested, is at the customer’s expense.)

Defective products that must be returned for analysis will be shipped via Company Truck, UPS, FedEx, or other carrier at our discretion. Labor for removal, repair, or travel is not covered.

Limitation of obligations

Our obligations are limited to repair or replacement (at our sole option) of parts found defective under this Limited Warranty. In no event shall Outdoor Shades USA be liable for economic loss, indirect, punitive, special, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind, including time, wages, lost profits, or damage to property.

Important high-wind & weather notice

Outdoor Shades USA screens are engineered with some of the highest wind ratings available in the DIY motorized screen category and are designed to perform in normal to high-wind conditions when used within their rated limits.

However, these screens are not hurricane-rated and are not intended for use during extreme weather events, including severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, or hurricanes.

Screens should be fully raised (rolled up) whenever winds approach or exceed the rated limits for your specific configuration, or when extreme weather is expected. Failure to raise the screen under these conditions will void the warranty. Rated wind limits vary based on screen size, fabric, and installation details.

Claim procedure

  1. Contact Outdoor Shades USA and provide proof of purchase.
  2. We evaluate and record the reported issue.
  3. We review the claim and provide replacement components as appropriate under this warranty.

It is the customer’s responsibility to contact us for coverage determination on any potential warranty issue.

Additional terms

For orders covered by this revised 2026 warranty: this Limited Warranty is the entire warranty given by Outdoor Shades USA for that sale and supersedes any conflicting terms in purchase orders, contracts, or invoices for that sale. No dealer, agent, representative, or employee may bind Outdoor Shades USA to any representation or warranty other than what is set forth in the applicable warranty document for that order.

Which warranty applies to your order

The warranty that applies to your shade is the warranty that was in effect on the date of your order (or as stated on your order documents / invoice at the time of purchase).

This webpage and the current PDF describe our current Limited Lifetime Warranty (revised 2026). Updated terms do not override, replace, or extend the warranty that applied to orders placed under an earlier warranty, including older hardware and systems sold with shorter coverage periods.
